32 or 64 bit? If my XP Home has a "system32" file in it, does that mean it's a 32 bit program?

That doesn't tell you anything. Both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows versions have a System32 folder. I don't think there is a 64-bit version of Windows XP Home Edition, and 64-bit XP Professional is extremely rare.
